The BJP’s style of functioning

Every political party has its ideology, ideologues and style of functioning. The BJP which is a transformed form of the Jan Sangh has derived its ideology from its mother organization, the RSS. The RSS is an extreme Hindu Organization believing in wrapped form of Hinduism devoid of its universality but mixed with militancy, obscurantism and narrow obduracy.

The RSS has always suffered from duality. Its founding fathers conceived  it as a cultural organization devoted to spread of noble principles of liberal religion known as Hinduism, but in the core of their hearts they had political ambition. That is why, they set up a political party known as the Jan Sangh later to be dissolved and reorganized as the BJP. Both the Jan Sangh and the BJP have been guided and controlled by the RSS.

Not only the founders of the RSS but all the Indian Politicians have been much affected with Hitler and his Nazi Party, though they claim to be opposed to Hitler and his idea dictatorship. They propagate democracy in politics but they run their parties on dictatorial lines. There is neither democracy nor transparency in the Indian Political Parties. The BJP also, is run in the same way. Opposition to High Command is not tolerated unless it is permitted covertly by the High Command to speak against the outwardly accepted party line. The lower rung of leaders delivers communal inflammatory speeches because they are permitted unofficially to speak in the manner. After much loose talk either the PM or some important leader speaks against them without taking any action against them for speaking against the party line. That is why, the PM lays stress on development and cooperation of all the sections of society while his followers raise controversial questions like ‘Love Jihad’ and ‘Ghar Vapasi’, and harass minorities on false charges of eating beef.

In the beginning, the Jan Sangh and the BJP were different from other political parties; unlike other political parties the Jan Sangh and the BJP were against Article 370 in the Constitution which gives special status to Kashmir. They put stress on Common Civil Code and were honest to the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya. But later on, the Jan Sangh was dissolved and the BJP gave up all these points which made it different. It led a grand movement for the construction of Ram Temple under the leadership of Mr. L. K. Advani. Consequently Babri Masjid, where the idol of lord Rama was already kept, was demolished. Lord Rama was made homeless. He came under the shade of a make shift trampoline tent bearing the vagaries of nature. But the construction of his grand temple is still unfulfilled. Now a Ramayan Museum is going to be built instead of a house for Lord Rama to protect him from rain, cold and hot sun. What a compromise for the sake of power?

When the BJP came to power at the end of the 20^th Century, it was not prepared to lead the country. It had no foreign and economic policy of its own. In haste it adopted Congress’s economic and foreign policies with minor changes and is still pursuing with the change of names. Not only like Sardar Patel, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Madan Mohan Malviya and Rajarsi P. D. Tandon, who suit to is ideology and pitted them against Jawahar Lal Nehru and Ms. Indira Gandhi and tried to lower their prestige. Thus it proved to be intellectually dishonest and opportunist.

Now the BJP cannot call itself a party with difference. Like other political parties, it is full contradictions with a huge gap between preaching and practical administration and is unfit to rule over the country. Our country is still waiting for a party which is secular and socialist in its approach and whose leaders are honest, intellectually as well as spiritually wedded to the ideology of simplicity and service, broad in vision rising above the caste and communal considerations.
