Good vs Evil
Good vs Evil …..
Today is Holi, the annual Hindu festival signifying the victory of good over evil. Colors are used to diminish the diversity and develop a sense of unison and cohesion among all.
Good and evil are the two aspects of all mortal beings. However, no one could be simply said to be good or evil. Human nature is far more complex and diverse than these two extreme poles. No one is totally free from either. Proportions may vary, and humanity signifies its values as tilting towards the better one. Evilness is better said to be an aberration and goodness, the priority.
Good people lack self-centeredness. They work for the welfare of themselves but not at the cost of someone else. They are empathetic and care for the emotion of others. At times, they sacrifice their welfare for the sake of others.
Evil people lack empathy for others. Their own welfare is of prime importance. Their behavior is self centered and narcissistic. They can’t see the world from other’s perspective.
Most of us lie between the two extremes. Sometimes, we behave in a decent self sacrificing manner, while at others, our impulses take over and we assume the negative role. A hero for one might be a villain for others. For most of us, good quality can be nurtured and magnified. Fluidity of good or bad is another concept which says that both the qualities are contagious. This means that both of them spread themselves through contact. If one is in the company of good, he will try to behave good and eventually turn good. While a company of bad is capable of making us imbibe the element of evilness.
Walking on the unknown stretches of life, one sometimes realizes at one instance, regarding the meaninglessness of his life, his poems taking the undesired turn. Things are not so streamlined. But deriving a positive meaning is much dependent upon his own thoughts and perception.
Thinks good, behave good, you will turn into a good individual!
