Work assignment; the prime corporate mantra
Work assignment and their strict enforcement is the prime corporate mantra which needs to be followed for the efficient and optimal function of any organization. The human resource management team is responsible for the arrangement of best work force and assignment of duties to them. The duty of HRD wing stops there itself. They are not expected to interfere in the working of the employees at ground level. If the bosses start taking interest and giving suggestion in the work implementation, things could be hardly carried out and progress would suffer.
For example, say if Mr. A is responsible to head the tech. wing of a company, he has been entrusted with the responsibility because of his expertise in the field. The role of HRD stops to the point of appointment. The right guy has been chosen who is expected to take right and responsible decisions. HRD doesn’t have an expertise in technology, so their interference would detriment the progress. Likewise, if Mr. B is assigned the duty of printing and designing, all the decisions of Mr. B should be final till the time he is the person entrusted with this duty.
Division of labor is extremely important to maintain a healthy work environment and gain strain free output. There should not be any lack luster or deadline faults. Within a definite framework, employees are free to take decisions and act in the company’s best interest to the best of their abilities. The company just sets out reasonable instructions and rules which are necessary and reasonable. In the culture of self discipline, people are motivated to display the entrepreneurial behaviour.
The gist of this corporate mantra is that right people take right decisions. It is the duty of the tier 1 management to make a conglomerate of right people and give them the liberty to function. Tier 1 should just focus upon the continuity of a disciplined work environment and overall output.
